Support Assistant at Fanfaren
The position is located within the Social Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Administration is responsible for authority exercise, ordering of services, and self-management in the areas of individual and family care, LSS, and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to. Do you want to improve the everyday life, future, and quality of life for the residents of Linköping? With us, you can combine important tasks with a meaningful everyday life. Welcome to us!
Your Responsibilities
As a support assistant, your task is to support the employees in their daily work through a pedagogical approach and a low-arousal response. We create individual schedules, checklists, and plans to support the person's own abilities. We document in Treserva and work based on implementation plans.
Fanfaren operates based on IBIC (Individual's Needs in Center) where the scope and content of the services are designed together with the employee. The goal is to offer employment that, based on the individual's abilities and wishes, enhances self-esteem and increases self-confidence. The pedagogical work is characterized by working to strengthen the individual's participation and independence as much as possible. For us, it is important to maintain good quality in our operations. We also work with TSS (sign language support) and low-arousal responses. At Fanfaren, we work daytime, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Your Workplace
The LSS department belongs to the Social Administration and is responsible for ensuring that individuals according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) receive their services. Daily activities are aimed at individuals with disabilities who need support, which can be in the form of care or guidance at work. Most daily activities require an LSS decision. The LSS department has about 30 daily activities with many different focuses. We work in teams and together create good days with our users.
We are now looking for a support assistant for Fanfaren – a daily activity located in the scenic Lambohov. Here you will be part of a small and dedicated workgroup of five people, consisting of both support assistants and a support pedagogue. The operation is close to Lambohov's center, and we work on fixed schedules during the day. We publish the Fanfaren magazine four times a year. The work involves daily use of computers, article writing, and pedagogical support. We believe that you, who have an interest in both media and pedagogy, will thrive in our team.
Who You Are
To succeed in this role, we see that you are educated in care and nursing or child and leisure. We particularly value if you have worked with autism previously and feel comfortable in a pedagogical and low-arousal approach.
As digital creation is a central part of our everyday life, we are looking for someone who enjoys welfare technology and iPads as pedagogical tools. Participants in the daily activities mainly perform written work on computers, which requires that you, as an applicant, have good computer skills and the ability to work in digital systems. The work requires good knowledge of the Swedish language to ensure safe communication and documentation. We see it as an extra plus if you have experience with IBIC and Treserva, or if you are familiar with sign language support (TSS). A B driver's license is advantageous as travel may occur in the position.
You create participation and consensus around the operation and are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your response. You are also secure, stable, have self-awareness, work well with others, and can relate to them in a sensitive and flexible manner. To succeed in this role, you take your own initiatives, start activities in collaboration with your colleagues, and have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and of people's different conditions. You bring enthusiasm, energy, and joy to the work. You are self-sufficient and take responsibility for your tasks.
