Engaged Childcare Worker Wanted for Temporary Position

We are now looking for an engaged childcare worker for a temporary position at Förskolor Åkerbo 1, currently located at Himnavägen in Linghem. Your Responsibilities

As a childcare worker, you will work together with the team to ensure that the preschool's activities stimulate development and curiosity in the children.

The team plans the activities and teaching based on the curriculum, where you as a childcare worker are involved in the work. You then carry out the teaching in the child group so that care, development, and learning form a whole. You adapt the activities based on the children's interests, experiences, and needs. In your work, you will draw from both routines and the spontaneous learning that arises and incorporate it into the teaching. In your role as a childcare worker, it is also included to have ongoing conversations with guardians about the child's well-being, development, and learning.

As a childcare worker, you contribute to fulfilling the preschool's mission. You have knowledge of current governing documents, such as the curriculum, and work according to the norms and values included in the preschool's curriculum.

Your Workplace

Förskolor Åkerbo 1 consists of four preschools led by a principal and two assistant principals. We have three preschools in Linghem and one in Vårdsberg. You can easily and conveniently reach Linghem by Östgötapendeln, as the train station is within a comfortable distance from our operations. The preschools vary in size, from one department to five departments: that is, between 23 and 90 children. Assistant principals are close to the operations to coach but also to drive development work together with the staff.

Our education and teaching are based on the Preschool Curriculum and are specified in our development plan. Our entire area is permeated by active work for an equitable preschool, where we share experiences and develop together. The area works based on a result goal that this year focuses on children developing strategies for increased conceptual understanding. Based on the goal, each child should have the opportunity to encounter concept-rich environments with aware adults and participate in more activities aimed at developing strategies for increased conceptual understanding.

The current placement of the position is at Himnavägen 149 in Linghem. We have five departments and work in age-divided groups. With us, you will have access to a large yard that inspires play and creativity, and we are fortunate to have our own kitchen on site.

Who You Are

It is a requirement that you have an education as a childcare worker from adult education or have completed the Child and Leisure Program in high school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-driven activities as an employee, through internships, or voluntarily.

Furthermore, it is a requirement that you have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lpfö18), can organize and carry out the work so that the child receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

In your role as a childcare worker, you create good relationships and collaborate well with children, colleagues, guardians, and other contacts that occur in your professional role. You have a good understanding of people's differences and relate to them in a responsive way in teaching and the preschool's everyday life. You lead the work with the children through motivation, engagement, and participation. The role also means that you, together with your colleagues, will work with the current goals and quality standards for the preschool.
