Your tasks

We are now looking for several support assistants for our LSS leisure activities. The positions comprise 70–85 percent and are suitable for those who want to work with support, structure, and motivation in the daily lives of young people.

As a support assistant, you contribute to creating a safe and meaningful leisure time for children and young people with decisions according to LSS. The young people have different needs and conditions, which makes the work varied and developing. You adapt your support based on the individual and help create a daily life characterized by safety, participation, and community.

Your assignment includes planning and implementing activities that promote social interaction, movement, and creativity. You work both pedagogically and care-oriented, and personal care may occur. Simple household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, are also part of the job.

You are responsible for documentation and collaborate closely with colleagues, relatives, and external actors, such as schools and other partners. You will be employed in one department, but the operation coordinates resources, which means you need to be flexible and able to work with different young people as needed.

The working hours are mainly scheduled Monday to Friday between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM, focusing on afternoons, usually from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. During school holidays and study days, the operation is open full days between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM. With a higher employment rate, weekend work every other week in various children’s and youth activities is included.

Your workplace

LSS leisure, also known as short-term supervision, is an intervention according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). The operation is aimed at young people aged 12–21 who need support before and after school, during study days and school holidays, as well as a safe social context.

The operation is conducted in-house at Fredriksberg in the Ekholmen district and is divided into several buildings with different departments. About 26 employees work together with around 50 young people. The operation is relatively newly started and is characterized by commitment, cooperation, and a shared responsibility for developing working methods and routines.

The workplace is located in a quiet area with proximity to green spaces, soccer fields, and walking paths. The premises are accessibility-adapted and offer good opportunities for both indoor and outdoor activities. Each young person has an implementation plan that clarifies goals, needs, and the support to be provided.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with education from the child and youth program, health and care program, leisure leader education, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. Alternatively, you have a YH education or at least 60 higher education credits in, for example, pedagogy, behavioral science, psychology, speech therapy, occupational therapy, or a similar field.

You have experience working in support, care, and social or educational activities. You also have experience with low-arousal responses and alternative and augmentative communication, such as visual support or sign language. Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or NPF diagnoses, as well as working with activities or creative elements, is an advantage.

The work involves documentation and collaboration with several parties, which requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as basic computer skills. As a person, you are secure, empathetic, and clear in your interactions. You collaborate well with others, take responsibility, and easily adapt to changing needs and situations.
