Who are we?

The mission of the Competence Supply Office is to make the future workforce visible and to be an active part in solving Norrköping's competence supply needs. With our shared resources and professional expertise, we are a central part both internally and externally for the community's growth and individual development.

Within the office, we have about 400 employees responsible for financial support according to the Social Services Act, municipal labor market measures, budget and debt counseling, and adult education from SFI to vocational college. Regardless of the activity, we have a common mission to offer citizens the opportunity to grow and develop, and the path to self-sufficiency should be as short as possible.

In 2025, we have implemented a new working method that aligns with the new Social Services Act. We leave behind the extensive control of each month's applications and instead focus on the change work together with the individual, to sustainably help more people achieve self-sufficiency. We are also preparing working methods to meet the upcoming activity requirement.

Financial assistance consists of five units. Four units are now looking for you who want to be part of our continued work to develop our operations during the summer of 2026.

Your tasks

As a summer substitute social assistant, you meet individuals in various life situations. Your main task is to handle applications for financial assistance.

You investigate and make assessments from a holistic perspective with the goal of clients achieving self-sufficiency. You make decisions about the right to financial assistance according to the Social Services Act.

You will have many contacts, both via phone and visits, with both individual clients and other authorities and actors.

During your summer substitute position, you will receive thorough introduction and support from a supervisor. With us, you will have colleagues who are passionate about helping individuals in various life situations.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone studying to become a social worker or another equivalent education in behavioral science, sociology, or law, or you may have a completed degree as a social worker or an equivalent degree in behavioral science, sociology, or law.

You have completed your practical training (VFU) with passing grades, and we view it positively if you have passing grades in social law.

To succeed in the position, we see that you have previously worked in a service profession, where you have met different people and worked with customer relations.

If you have worked with authority exercise within financial assistance or other parts of social services, we see it as a positive.

As a person, we see that you are curious and have a genuine interest in meeting people. You are attentive and want to go the extra mile to ensure the best possible interaction.

You communicate clearly and adapt to the situation and the person you are meeting.

You have good collaboration skills but also enjoy working independently. You are flexible and have courage, and you thrive on challenging yourself in your work.

To feel comfortable in the position, we see that you are secure, stable, and can make decisions considering all available information and possible alternatives.
