Hemnovia is now looking for a dedicated youth counselor on an hourly basis for our outpatient services in Linköping and surrounding areas!

About the assignment

The role of a youth counselor involves close work with a young person in need of continuous support both practically and emotionally.

The assignment involves a relationship-based approach where the focus is on:

• Providing daily support and guidance to the youth in their everyday life
• Supporting the youth in making positive life choices, choosing healthy relationships, and living drug-free
• Working on motivation, structure, and accountability
• Practically supporting and helping the youth in their current life situation and for a positive future

Scope

The assignment initially involves two meetings per week, with the number of hours adjusted based on needs and development over time. The work is done both individually with the youth and in close collaboration with the client and Hemnovia.

We are looking for someone who

• Is an educated social pedagogue, social worker, behavioral scientist, or has equivalent relevant education
• Has experience working with at-risk youth, for example regarding norm-breaking behavior, drugs, or destructive relationships
• Is secure, clear, and relationship-building
• Can work independently and in a structured manner
• Is flexible and has the ability for continuous and close contact

Meritorious

• Experience in family therapy in outpatient care
• Experience in motivational work (e.g., MI)
• Experience with NPF

To work as a youth counselor within Hemnovia's outpatient services, you need to submit a criminal record extract from the Police's suspicion and criminal record register.
