Guest Researcher in Crisis Management
Gaskeuniversiteete/Mittuniversitetet is located in the heart of the South Sámi area in Saepmie. The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences is a cross-regional institution with operations at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The activities include research and education in subjects such as English, gender studies, history, criminology, literary studies, social studies, sociology, political science, Swedish as a second language, and the Swedish language. Research is conducted within each subject as well as within the Risk and Crisis Research Center (RCR), the Forum for Gender Studies (FGV), and DEMICOM.
Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities consist of participating in research projects within the area of collaboration in the Swedish crisis management system, focusing on civil defense and critical infrastructure.
Eligibility
The person to be employed as a guest researcher must be eligible according to the requirements described in this link (https://www.miun.se/medarbetare/styrdokument/ny-styrning-planering-och-uppfoljning/Personal/Anstalla-personal/?item=311447). Eligible for employment as a guest researcher is someone who has either obtained a PhD or is qualified to start doctoral education. However, individuals who have been admitted to doctoral education in Sweden are not eligible.
Other Requirements
Work experience from employment with content corresponding to what has been presented above is required, including experience from collegial work in an academic environment. Good knowledge of English and Swedish in both spoken and written form is a requirement.
The position requires independence as well as good collaboration skills. Since the position involves several different tasks, the ability to work in a structured manner and good planning skills are also required.
Assessment Criteria
Scientific competence is assessed through a weighting of the applicant's scientific production, taking into account depth and breadth, experience in obtaining external research funding, and leading research projects.
Experience working in multidisciplinary research projects is an advantage. Experience in research and teaching related to collaboration in civil defense is particularly meritorious.

The employment is a special fixed-term position comprising 15% of full-time from 2026-03-01, or by agreement, but no later than 2026-06-30.
