Job Responsibilities:

Teaching, examination, research, and administration in the subject of Italian.

Teaching includes course responsibility, course administration, and course development. The teaching, which is campus-based, covers grammatical, linguistic, and language skills-oriented components as well as teaching in text and literature, culture, and society, primarily within Italian A and Italian B.

Research in the subject of Italian involves independent research. As a university lecturer, you are expected to keep up with developments in your field and participate in the faculty's and department's research-related work.

The position also includes administration. Regular attendance at the workplace is expected for active participation in the department's work.

Qualifications:

To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer, one must have a doctoral degree in a relevant subject area or possess equivalent scientific competence, demonstrated pedagogical skills, and the personal qualities required to perform the position well. The pedagogical skills, scientific competence, and professional skills must be relevant to the subject matter of the position and the tasks included in the employment.

A prerequisite for pedagogical skills to be considered is completion of relevant higher education pedagogical training, comprising at least ten weeks, or equivalent knowledge.

The ability to teach in Italian and Swedish is required to perform the position well. The applicant should have broad and well-documented experience teaching Italian at a Swedish institution.

The applicant should possess the personal qualities necessary to perform the position well. Such personal qualities include good collaboration skills, responsibility, and flexibility.

Assessment Criteria:

In the selection among qualified applicants, special emphasis will be placed on scientific and pedagogical skills in the subject area of Italian.

Equal care will be given to the assessment of pedagogical and scientific skills.

The university will primarily consider those who, after a qualitative overall assessment of competence and skills, are deemed to have the best conditions to actively contribute as a present employee in the department to carry out and develop current tasks and contribute to a positive development of the operations.

Scientific Skills: In assessing scientific skills, scientific quality within the subject of Italian will be prioritized. The scope of research, particularly regarding depth and breadth, will also be given importance. Experience in initiating research and project collaborations is meritorious.

Pedagogical Skills: Pedagogical skills refer to educational and teaching qualifications. In assessing pedagogical skills, pedagogical quality will be prioritized. The scope of teaching, i.e., breadth and depth at various teaching levels, will also be considered. Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on the ability to plan, initiate, lead, and develop education and teaching, as well as the ability to connect research to teaching. Special importance will be given to documented experience of teaching Italian at the beginner level. Additionally, special emphasis will be placed on the applicant's potential to contribute to the future development of teaching in the subject area at the department.

Other Skills: Administrative skills will also be considered important. Administrative skills are demonstrated through the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and appropriately for the purpose, as well as the ability to set and adhere to deadlines.

Experience of collaboration with the surrounding community is meritorious, as well as proven good collaboration skills.

All qualifications must be documented so that both quality and scope can be assessed.
