About the job as Jr Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer focusing on materials technology in additive manufacturing, you will support Siemens Energy's research and development environment with analysis, testing, and documentation related to 3D-printed metal components. You will work closely with experienced materials engineers and be part of a cross-functional team where innovation, structure, and accuracy are at the center.

The role is perfect for you who are a recent graduate and want to grow within metallurgy, microscopic analysis, and mechanical testing in an advanced production and development environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Conduct metallurgical investigations of metal components manufactured with additive manufacturing (AM)
• Perform microstructure analyses and mechanical tests using standardized laboratory methods
• Participate in process development for series production of 3D-printed metal components
• Document results in a structured and clear manner
• Collaborate with material experts and cross-functional teams in a research-driven environment

The person we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, and wants to develop in a role focused on advanced materials technology. You thrive in a technical and laboratory-based environment and have a systematic approach with high accuracy. As you become part of a development-oriented and knowledge-rich team, curiosity and the desire to learn are central.

We are looking for you who have:

• Master's degree in materials science, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• Good theoretical knowledge of metallic materials and manufacturing processes
• Meriting if you have knowledge in additive manufacturing
• Very good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Swedish language skills are considered an advantage
• Good ability to plan, organize, and document
• Accuracy, systematic approach, and a strong desire to develop
