Support Assistant for LSS Group Home in Lugnvik

Are you a structured support assistant who wants to work with clarifying pedagogy? Do you want to work with physical activity? Then you could be our future support assistant for the LSS group home in Lugnvik!

Here, an active and meaningful daily life is in focus. Citizens of varying ages live here, and the operation is characterized by many forms of physical activity, both on weekdays and weekends. The group home is located in a residential area with access to its own garden and proximity to forests and nature, which creates good conditions for an active and health-promoting working method.

The team currently consists of seven dedicated support assistants/support persons who work together to provide the right support based on each citizen's individual needs. We place great importance on continuity and good relationships, and actively work to promote both physical and mental well-being through varied activities tailored to the individual. To succeed in the assignment, you will have close support and collaboration with a support pedagogue and a special educator. In the larger organization, there are also occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, and district nurses.

The working hours are varied and include days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call, according to a laundry schedule. A larger part of the working hours is allocated to the evening as most citizens participate in daily activities during the daytime. The position is full-time (100%) with immediate start or by agreement.

Your New Job

As a support assistant, you provide support to citizens based on individual needs, conditions, and goals. The work involves supporting in all aspects of daily life and helping the individual manage both planned activities and unexpected situations at home as well as in the community. In this role, you create good conditions for as independent and meaningful a life as possible. The work requires a professional, structured, and individualized approach where you use the right support measures based on each citizen's needs.

We are particularly looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of autism and other neuropsychiatric disabilities. You are confident in working with structure, clarifying pedagogy, and adapted strategies. It is also important that you have the ability to meet and handle challenging situations, including behaviors, in a calm and professional manner. The operation has access to its own car, and driving our citizens to or from daily activities is common, so we are looking for someone who has a driver's license and is able to drive both manual and automatic transmission.

Your Competence

Requirements

  • Trained support assistant or other education that the employer deems equivalent. We prefer that you have a pedagogical educational background
  • Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • Good computer skills
  • Driver's license-B (also manual transmission)

Meritorious

  • Experience working within LSS
  • Experience working in care and support work
  • Knowledge of autism and/or experience working with individuals with autism
  • Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities and/or experience working with individuals with neuropsychiatric disabilities
  • Experience working with sign language as an alternative and augmentative communication (TAKK)
  • Familiarity with our systems Viva, MCSS, Df-respons, and/or Heroma
