Project Employee at the Center Against Violence
The Center Against Violence is a regional competence center located in the municipality of Östersund, under the Social and Labor Market Administration, where seven employees with different specializations, a project manager, and a unit manager work part-time.
The Center Against Violence in Jämtland County is tasked with providing support to victims of violence and facilitating change for those who have perpetrated violence in close relationships, as well as serving as support for professionals in Jämtland County.
Our operations are based on respect for human rights, children's rights according to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and principles of equality and the equal worth of all individuals. We strive for a society free from violence, oppression, and discrimination.
We regularly seek project funding, some of which are time-limited while others become a permanent part of the operations. This position is within the framework of the Resource Center Against Honor-related Violence and Oppression in Jämtland County, which is a project running from 2023 to 2027. The project's aim is to ensure that children and adults who are or risk becoming victims of honor-related violence and oppression have equal access to specialized and tailored support, regardless of where they live in Jämtland.
Job Responsibilities
The Center Against Violence is now looking for a project employee who can take on a new assignment primarily focused on preventive work against honor-related violence and oppression based on granted project funding for one year:
The work may include:
- Informing about honor-related violence and oppression and what support individuals who are victims can receive from social services and the Resource Center Against Honor-related Violence and Oppression.
- Contributing to creating networks for youth, for example through ambassador activities against honor-related norms.
- Training others on what it can mean to be a victim and how they can practically help a fellow human being who is affected.
The information and training initiatives are offered on-site throughout the county or digitally and target both small and large groups.
The design of the preventive work is carried out in collaboration with other actors, such as social services, schools, and youth centers. The last two points may therefore be modified depending on the needs and circumstances of these actors.
In addition to the main assignment, as an employee at the Center Against Violence, you will be part of a workgroup where we support and assist with all the assignments that CMV has. This may include being responsible for the phone until 4:00 PM on some days of the week, helping with emergency housing, informing about CMV, and generally being a team player who steps up when needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has at least a treatment pedagogue or social pedagogue education, or another post-secondary education at an equivalent level that is deemed relevant for working with people.
It is advantageous to have a good understanding of how honor-related norms and restrictions can affect individuals' living conditions. This understanding may have developed through personal life experience, professional experience, or other close work in the field. Such experience or in-depth knowledge is seen as a particular asset in the role.
You need to be comfortable speaking in front of both small and large groups, have the ability to build trust with youth and adults in vulnerable situations, and be able to stand firm and advocate for human rights even when faced with opposition.
We would like you to have good knowledge of social services and experience working in caring professions.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
A B driver's license is a requirement.
Other
As an employee at the Center Against Violence, you will be offered:
- Continuous training related to the assignment.
- A stimulating job with varied tasks.
- Friendly and competent colleagues who care about the organization and each other.

- Opportunity for vacation exchange.
- Annual working hours.
- Wellness hour or wellness allowance.
