About the role

Do you have a great interest in dogs and want to combine this with a socially important mission where you can really make a difference? We at Securitas are currently looking for someone who wants to take on the role of dog handler with us. Do you want to be part of a team with both two- and four-legged colleagues?

As a guard performing surveillance with a dog, you protect property, buildings, and premises from fire, theft, and damage. The work primarily takes place in industries, offices, and workshops with associated outdoor areas. To report to our clients what has been done during the work, you will use a computerized information system.

As a dog handler, you will work in conjunction with your guard dog to utilize the dog's senses for additional personal protection. The personal protection that the guard dog provides means that you receive immediate signals if there are unexpected individuals in your surroundings. A good guard dog acts as an extension of your senses and contributes to a greater ability to detect things that might otherwise go unnoticed. The dog is also trained to protect you as the handler in case a threatening situation arises.

The work as a dog handler is independent and often feels free, but comes with great responsibility. As a dog handler at Securitas, you will have the opportunity for regular dog training with our dog unit and instructor. Each year, you will undergo a functional test for the police. There may also be opportunities for further development for EDD/NDD search teams.

The tasks are highly varied, and with us, you can work both indoors and outdoors, at night or during the day. The length of shifts varies, but they are often 12-hour shifts. Since we operate all year round, working every other weekend is common. As an employee at our office in Årsta, you will become part of a close-knit group of 100 people.

Requirements

• You have a registered and approved team
• You are trained as a guard at least VU1
• Approved grades in Swedish and English from the first year of high school
• Driver's license B

Salary and employment conditions are based on the collective agreement between the employer organization Security Companies and the Swedish Transport Workers' Union.
