Vocational Teacher for the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on Leisure and Health at Tora Vega Gymnasium, part of Tora Vega Folk High School

Job Responsibilities and Placement

You will work on the startup of our new gymnasium opening in Åkarp in the autumn of 2025. You will plan and teach students in the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on Leisure and Health. Additionally, you are expected to continuously develop your teaching and work with assessment, grading, and other documentation. You will be a mentor for students in your class, working both motivationally and socially pedagogically based on the goal that all students succeed in their studies. You will also have significant responsibility for planning and implementing students' Workplace-Based Learning (APL), which includes establishing contacts with workplaces as well as planning and following up on students' time at APL.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a certified vocational teacher with the qualification to teach in the Child and Leisure Program, is currently undergoing vocational teacher training, or has another degree that the employer assesses as equivalent.

You have good knowledge of the Child and Leisure Program, focusing on Leisure and Health, and the professions the program prepares students for.

You have experience working in high school and/or adult education.

You are skilled at motivating, coaching, and supporting students based on their individual circumstances, are comfortable working in a multifaceted workplace, and are a creative colleague.

You have a good attitude towards students and colleagues and naturally enjoy collaborating and teamwork.

We appreciate understanding of our pedagogical approach.

You are very comfortable using various digital tools and media as part of your pedagogy.

You have a good pedagogical ability, can see the whole picture, and quickly adapt to changes in the organization. Furthermore, you enjoy working in an environment with high demands for flexibility, responsibility, decisiveness, and social competence.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, as these are crucial for the position.

Employment

Permanent, 100%, 6-month probationary period, vacation position with differentiated teaching hours. If you become a candidate for the position, you must be able to present a valid extract from the Police Criminal Record.

Start Date

The position will be filled according to mutual agreement.

Tora Vega Folk High School (formerly known as Folkhögskolan Hvilan) has existed as a folk high school since April 17, 1868, making it Sweden's oldest folk high school. Our main campus is located in Åkarp, but we also operate in the Lund branch and remotely. In the autumn of 2025, Tora Vega Gymnasium will open, sharing premises with the folk high school in Åkarp.
