Do you want to contribute to a safer and more inclusive urban environment? We are looking for an engaged student employee for our work with area development in Möllevången, where safety and comfort are the focus.

Job Responsibilities

As a student employee, you will be part of the project group working to develop Möllevången from social and physical perspectives. You will primarily support the work within the safety area, in close collaboration with the project manager and working group.

Your tasks may include collecting and analyzing data on safety experiences in the area using various methods, both generally and with a particular focus on traffic safety for different target groups. This includes dialogues with businesses, collaboration groups, and residents, as well as participating in outreach activities and conducting your own observational studies or analyses of commissioned surveys. The results will be compiled and presented in the form of safety analyses with proposals for measures.

The work is carried out independently but in close dialogue with the project group and supervisor.

This assignment offers a unique opportunity to contribute to concrete development work in one of Malmö's most dynamic areas. You will gain practical experience in municipal area development and collaboration on complex urban issues while working alongside experienced colleagues. Through this assignment, you will gain insight into how the City of Malmö works with safety, social sustainability, and urban development, from analysis to implementation.

As a student employee in the City of Malmö, you will have the opportunity to practice your academic knowledge in parallel with your studies through assignments within our operations. We offer you relevant and qualified work experience, valuable contacts, and a salary. Working hours can correspond to approximately 10-15 hours per week.

Qualifications

The student employee program is aimed at those who have completed at least 60 higher education credits and are still studying throughout the assignment period. You are studying landscape architecture, human geography, criminology, sociology, social anthropology, urban studies, or a similar field.

You are analytical, curious, and interested in how urban spaces and social environments interact to create safety and comfort. You need to be both comfortable and curious in contact with residents, businesses, and visitors in the area.

About the Workplace

Our work spans a wide area, from accessibility issues and traffic planning to analyses in larger infrastructure projects. We work both with concrete measures in the urban environment here and now and with long-term planning in early stages, in projects we drive ourselves or participate in together with others.

With us, you will encounter a workplace with strong commitment and a culture characterized by collaboration. We believe in the power of combining different competencies and perspectives, both within the administration and in close dialogue with Malmö residents, businesses, and partners. It is precisely in that interaction that our drive and joy at work lie.
