Are you nearing the end of your law studies and want to gain experience in legal work? Are you responsible, have good judgment, and a strong sense of service? Then a summer position at the Legal Secretariat might be for you.

Your tasks will include assisting in the handling of certain administrative and legislative matters, conducting legal research, and supporting case handlers at the Legal Secretariat in managing other legal matters. Additionally, you will help in the preparation of the publication Total Defence's Legislative Handbook, which the Legal Secretariat compiles. The Legal Secretariat currently consists of 34 employees.

The Legal Secretariat is responsible for drafting proposals for council remits, bills, and other legislative work, as well as for issues regarding legislative preparedness, international law, humanitarian law, and matters concerning the release of public documents. The Secretariat provides legal advice to the department's leadership and other units and participates in the work of other units on international agreements.

Your Background

We are looking for someone studying law. You should have good academic results and have completed the seventh semester by the start of the employment period. Your grades will be evaluated during the selection process. Experience in legal work is considered an asset.

This is a fixed-term position from June to August 2026, as agreed.
