Strategic Local Strategist at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency coordinates efforts for a good living environment together with others. With us, you can contribute to the important work of achieving our vision – to create a good living environment for humans and all other living beings, now and for future generations!

We are looking for someone who can take a strategic role in our property team and work on office development from a sustainability, security, and work environment perspective. If you are a service-oriented person who professionally and enthusiastically tackles issues ranging from comfort to physical security at the offices, and who collaborates for the greater good, you may be the right person for us.

Your Responsibilities

You will be part of our property team, where you will drive the work on office development and property supply related to sustainability, flexibility, security, and service. You will participate in an ongoing change process where we make adjustments both in working methods and in physical design based on our mission as a preparedness authority. We are facing several procurements and contract renewals related to both security and service functions at both of our offices (Stockholm and Östersund). In parts of this work, you will have a project management role with responsibility for requirements specification, negotiation, and contract follow-up, while in other parts you will collaborate with colleagues and external contacts as a sounding board and expert.

Your assignment includes working with our long- and short-term space needs to meet the needs of the organization and employees for as functional and attractive premises as possible. You will compile statistics and prepare decision-making materials, for which you will use key figures, analyses, environmental monitoring, and have a sustainability perspective.

Your Competence

Requirements for Employment

  • Academic education, preferably with a focus on property, urban development, or similar
  • Experience in office operations, local strategy, or equivalent
  • Experience in project management (e.g., premises, construction, service)
  • Good knowledge of LOU and experience in conducting public procurement
  • Knowledge and experience in contract negotiation, management, and follow-up
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious

  • Experience working with security issues related to premises
  • Experience in similar work at a preparedness authority
  • Experience working with statistics, key figures, and analysis related to premises
  • Additional specific knowledge in: physical security, alarms and access control, surveillance, fire safety, ventilation, energy supply, facility management, interior design, direct environmental impact, sustainability, or other competencies with clear relevance and connection to the described tasks above.

Personal Qualities

The role includes many contact points both internally and externally, and you need to be skilled at communicating, building networks, and collaborating. You should enjoy working in a team where we check in with each other and take responsibility for including and keeping each other updated on new information. At the same time, you should take personal responsibility for driving and leading the processes that fall within your specifically designated tasks. Here, it is important that you are analytical, have an easy time seeing the big picture, and have the ability to work strategically.

You should have a strong interest in development and be able to translate ideas into realistic proposals and practical solutions. To contribute to our development work, you need to be responsible and proactive in such a way that you can take on tasks and ensure their completion from start to finish.

You are administratively inclined, have a good ability to plan and structure your work, and express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.

To thrive in this role, you need to appreciate the variety of tasks, from caring for comfort and the social aspect to monitoring compliance with regulations and security perspectives in our office environments.

Furthermore, at the Service Unit, we value and expect a curious attitude and a positive, helpful approach.
