Communications Strategist at MUCF
The Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) is a government agency that develops knowledge about young people's living conditions and the conditions of civil society. Our vision is an open and inclusive Sweden with good conditions for youth and civil society.
MUCF has been tasked by the government to work towards achieving the goals of youth policy and civil society policy. We do this by developing, collecting, and disseminating knowledge as well as contributing to the coordination of state efforts. We collaborate with authorities, municipalities, regions, and civil society organizations and distribute state grants.
As of January 1, 2026, the agency's mission has expanded as we have taken over the responsibilities previously held by the Agency for Support to Faith Communities (SST) and the responsibility for state tasks within minority policy. This means that MUCF is an even more important actor in strengthening democracy, promoting participation, and contributing to an inclusive society.
MUCF has offices in Växjö and, from February 2026, also in Stockholm.
Description
As a communications strategist, you have an agency-wide assignment focusing on strategic communication.
The position is located in the Department of Communication and Learning and is part of the agency's common communication function.
The role is both strategic and operational, and it involves ensuring that the agency's communication is cohesive, audience-adapted, and aligned with the agency's mission, goals, and governance.
The position is part of an ongoing development and change process, where the communication function is gradually evolving to better support the operations and the agency's long-term goals.
Responsibilities
As a communications strategist, you are responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and follow-up of the agency's communication work. You develop, manage, and maintain communication strategies, plans, and other governing documents, ensuring that these are used and followed up in the operations.
Your responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating communication efforts, as well as producing materials that contribute to learning and development. You also contribute to the development of working methods, collaboration, and competence within the communication function and collaborate with managers and employees throughout the agency.
The position may involve travel within Sweden.

It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in a government agency or another politically governed organization
- Knowledge of or experience in areas related to youth policy, civil society, minority policy, or faith communities

As a person, you have the ability to translate overarching goals, missions, and governance into clear and purposeful communication. You plan, prioritize, and structure your work in a way that ensures tasks are completed within given timeframes.
You collaborate well with others by contributing your expertise, embracing different perspectives, and adapting your communication style to the audience and context. You are confident in a coordinating role and can make well-founded assessments and priorities based on analyses, the needs of the operations, and available data.
