Library Assistant at Svedala Library

Do you want to help create an inspiring library service for children and young people? The libraries in Svedala are now looking for a dedicated and development-oriented librarian to join our team at Svedala Library.

Mission

The libraries in Svedala are responsible for the municipality's three public libraries located in Svedala, Bara, and Klågerup. We work to create vibrant meeting places that promote reading, education, and participation for all our residents.

As a librarian with us, you will be a key person for our prioritized target group of children and young people. You will contribute to an attractive and relevant offering by planning and implementing events such as holiday activities, baby meetings, creative workshops, and reading projects. Here, you will work to promote reading, participation, and develop an inviting and accessible library space for children and young people.

Furthermore, you will collaborate with youth centers, associations, preschools, and schools to strengthen the library's role in the local community. You will also participate in the municipality's children's librarian group and other significant networks where we work together to create the best conditions for the service.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in ABM or another education that the employer considers equivalent. We prefer that you have experience in promoting reading, working with children and young people, as well as planning and implementing activities for various age groups.

As a person, you are a team player with drive who finds it easy to collaborate both internally and externally. You have a good ability to plan, implement, and follow up on activities with a focus on children's and young people's participation and education.

It is important for you to stay updated on developments in the outside world and the factors that affect library services. You enjoy experimenting to test new ways and reach new users. Through your holistic view of the service, you contribute to close collaboration with the user in focus.

You have an interest in communication, social media, and other channels where children and young people can be reached.

Evening and weekend work is included.

Working Hours/Duration

80%, 12-month temporary position. Start date 2026-04-01, or by agreement.

Individual salary setting applies.
