JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a driven and committed librarian who wants to inspire a love of reading, both in well-known and yet untested ways. Your main target group will be children and young people aged ten and above, and your work can take place both in and outside the library. You will work to promote reading in a broad sense through inspiring activities and collaboration with various actors/groups. There is ample opportunity to shape your own activities.

The position will also include work at one of our four local libraries. When working at the smaller libraries, you will work independently, which requires you to be confident in your professional role and able to conduct reading promotion work and provide good service to both children and adults on your own.

You will also collaborate with our children's librarian in planning, marketing, and executing activities. This may also include events for our youngest visitors.

Information services at the main library and some work during evenings and weekends are included in the position.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in library and information science or another equivalent education. Experience in library services for children and youth, with a particular focus on reading promotion work, is an advantage. You have good knowledge of children's and youth literature and an interest in digital technology and in developing activities and services from a digital perspective, with an emphasis on marketing.

You are creative and full of ideas, have an easy time collaborating both internally and externally, and have the ability to see the big picture of the operations.

You have a genuine interest in people and see the value in building and maintaining relationships. You work independently with good initiative and have a strong service mindset, with the ability to meet people at the right level based on their needs and circumstances.

It is an advantage if you have a B driver's license.
