Ringsjöskolan is a municipal school for students in grades 7 - 9. The school is centrally located in Höör with access to a park, swimming pool, library, ice rink, athletics facility, bus and train station. We have high ambitions regarding students' learning, safety, and digital competence. We work to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment where the school library will be an obvious and active part of the teaching. The school is currently undergoing a total renovation, and a brand new library is being built.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged school librarian who wants to help build the operations in our brand new school library, which will be ready for occupancy in January 2027.

You will be a pedagogical resource in the school's knowledge mission and manage the school library in line with governing documents and the school's goals. You will play a central role in supporting students' information and media literacy, promoting reading enthusiasm and interest in literature among students. You will collaborate with teachers, be a trusted adult for the students, and build and maintain the school's media collection, both physically and digitally.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a degree in library and information science or equivalent education. Experience in reading promotion work and very good knowledge of source criticism and digital information environments is an advantage. It is also beneficial if you are familiar with school library systems and have excellent communication skills, the ability to build good relationships, and be a trusted adult in a school environment.

OTHER

The position will be filled provided that the necessary political decisions are made and that it is not needed for internal use.
