Do you want to make a real impact?
Here, you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.
Your Role
In this role, you will work on both the further development of existing propulsion systems and participate in concept studies focusing on new technologies and solutions for propulsion components, including air intake systems, engines, engine integration, and exhaust systems. You will have many internal and external contacts, giving you the opportunity to build a strong network both within Saab and with our partners.
Your tasks will include:
- Performing engine analyses through, for example, engine models and analyses regarding how the engine and other propulsion systems interact.
- Analyzing how new gas turbine technologies and propulsion system designs affect various aircraft characteristics.
- Contributing to the development of methods, system models, and tools for conducting appropriate analyses.
- Performing necessary calculations and simulations such as performance calculations and flow simulations (CFD).
- Participating in the preparation and execution of wind tunnel tests, demonstrators, and flight tests.
- Analyzing collected data, compiling analysis results, and presenting conclusions.
Our propulsion group, consisting of 15-20 engineers, is characterized by high engagement and a strong sense of community. Here, we understand that we are each other's work environment. Therefore, we help each other achieve our goals and enjoy our work together. We believe in open communication, knowledge sharing, and mutual support to reach maximum potential.
The position may involve domestic and international travel.
Your Profile
To thrive in this role, we see that you have a good analytical ability, an interest in understanding and solving technically complex issues, and a good understanding of how details affect the whole. We appreciate initiative and the ability to drive your own work, but also good communication and collaboration skills, as the work requires a lot of contact with different interfaces.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- A Master's degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, physics, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in a relevant technical field such as gas turbine technology, aerodynamics, or heat transfer.
- Good programming skills.
- Documentation and contacts in daily work are conducted in both Swedish and English, so you need to be fluent in both languages, spoken and written.
Experience in the aerospace or defense industry, system modeling, or flow simulations (CFD) is a plus.
The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
What will you be a part of?
Discover endless opportunities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together, we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
