About the role

As an Edge Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and deploying our edge solutions that connect sensors, devices, and central systems. You will work broadly with hardware, software, networking, IoT protocols, and data collection, ensuring that the solutions function stably in the field. The role is both practical and technical, and you will work closely with our field installers and system architect to ensure that what we build also works in reality.

The role involves a varied day-to-day experience; some days you will build new solutions, while other days you will analyze logs or resolve incidents. You will take overall responsibility for our edge platform and ensure stable operation and high quality.

Your responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the entire edge platform: development, testing, deployment, support, and ongoing improvements.

• Act as a bridge between our field installers and system architect, ensuring that solutions work in the field.

• Ensure that edge devices are stable, robust, and easy to handle – both mechanically and in terms of software.

• Develop processes and routines for testing, quality assurance, and updates before rollout to the field.

• Participate in incident management, root cause analyses, and development of action plans for field issues.

• Troubleshoot across the entire chain; ports, networks, certificates, firewalls, Linux services, API communication, and data logic.

• Manage data collection and data streams via MQTT, Websocket, and REST.

• Documentation and version control in Git.

Your profile

You are a technical generalist with an entrepreneurial spirit and a “can-do” mentality. You thrive in the intersection of development and practical installation and can see the big picture: from sensor and firmware through the edge device all the way to backend and database. As a person, you are curious, solution-oriented, and quick to learn new technologies. You enjoy variation, responsibility, and problem-solving, and you find it easy to collaborate with both field installers and the system architect.

Requirements for the position

• Technical education from a college or university (e.g., electrical, computer, mechatronics, IT).

• Experience in building and integrating hardware and software in production-related systems.

• Very good experience with Linux (terminal, services, logs, troubleshooting).

• Good knowledge of IoT protocols, especially MQTT, as well as experience with REST APIs.

• Ability to troubleshoot across the entire stack: networks, ports, certificates, firewalls, edge logic, and data collection.

• Good knowledge of Python, PHP, or JavaScript.

• Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a good ability to communicate in English in technical contexts.
