Are you driven by seeing your ideas come to life?

Welcome to our exciting and technology-intensive world.

Your Role:

The Baltic Sea is a fantastic body of water in many ways but also challenging from a military perspective. Its average depth is only about 55 meters, and its geography and hydrology make it difficult to detect and combat threats. But the Baltic Sea is our arena!

Are you a senior software developer with a passion for embedded systems and a curiosity for future technologies? Do you want to help shape tomorrow's maritime capabilities?

The Underwater Systems business unit provides both military and civilian products that offer capabilities both above and below the water surface. Versatility, flexibility, and high availability are characteristics that define our products.

Currently, we have openings across large parts of our portfolio as we are growing in all fields where we operate. Please read about some of our products on our website (https://www.saab.com/products/naval/underwater-systems (https://www.saab.com/products/naval/underwater-systems)). Your interest and profile will allow us to match you with the most suitable opportunities.

Do you want to:

  • Have a significant impact on the entire development cycle, from idea to delivery? Not just in the product but also in how we work with methods and tools.
  • Share your knowledge and streamline our software development?
  • Have a creative and innovative work environment where you have a great opportunity to influence!
  • Work in a small team with great freedom and responsibility, interfacing with, for example, production, verification, and systems departments?
  • Test your software in our products, in their real environment, and in collaboration with our customers?
  • Work with a wide variety of products, ranging from vehicles, measurement systems, data analysis, and operator stations to planning tools.
  • Have opportunities for personal development to become the person you want to be, through a generous offering of courses, technical studies, conferences, and challenging work.

Your Profile:

  • The ability to have a helicopter perspective with an interest in everything from coding to architecture, requirements management, and design.
  • Interest in surrounding technologies and methodologies (containers, cloud, CI/CD).
  • A "can-do" attitude and enjoy collaborating or even leading and coaching?
  • Experience with, for example, C, C++, Python, Ada, or Qt.
  • You are a civil engineer/university engineer or have equivalent knowledge, with several years of experience in system development focused on software.

You need to be able to read and write fluently in Swedish and English as it is a common requirement from our customers. The position is located in Linköping.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.

What you will be a part of

Saab is a leading defense and security company with a mission to help nations protect their populations and contribute to the safety of people and communities.

With 26,000 talented employees, Saab develops technology and solutions for a safer and more sustainable world. Saab develops, manufactures, and maintains advanced systems in aviation, weapons, command systems, sensors, and underwater systems. Saab has its headquarters in Sweden but operates globally, where Saab is part of many nations' defense capabilities.
