We are looking for someone to work as a personal assistant for our client living in Rörsås outside Mariestad.

The client's disabilities include cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and developmental disabilities, and she has significant care needs. Her vision and hearing are impaired, but you will communicate using body language, eye contact, and tactile signs. Assistance is provided in the parental home, and there are many aids available both indoors and outdoors. She uses a wheelchair and enjoys going for walks, watching movies, and crafting. Riding her specially adapted bike is also an interest, as well as cuddling with her little sister. The position is extra as needed.

Role and Experience of the Assistant

For this position, we are looking for someone who is positive, empathetic, and attentive. It is important that you are confident in yourself, but the most important thing is that the chemistry is right between you and the family.

The client has many medications and machines to help her daily life function, such as oxygen, a cough machine, and a lift. She has wonderful, caring, and accommodating assistants who always keep the client in focus.

We are looking for someone who wants to work as an assistant for our client and develop a good relationship. You will receive individualized introduction/training in all aspects of the client's care needs and routines – it is important that both you as an assistant and our client feel secure.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working as an assistant.
• Experience with tactile signs and sign support.
• Swedish in speech and writing.
• Experience with delegation.
• Not allergic to pets. Dogs are present in the home.

Working Hours/Employment Rate

• Extra as needed, all hours of the day.
• Day, evening, and night shifts.
• Summer substitute.
