The security department of the Migration Agency is part of the head office and has overall responsibility for security and preparedness within the authority.
The security department employs specialists in information security, personnel security, physical and technical security, internal investigations, employee protection, crisis preparedness, and civil defense. Do you want to help us strengthen security in one of Sweden's most socially important authorities? We are now looking for an investigation leader with the capacity and competence to conduct internal investigations as well as security assessments.
Internal investigations are the unit within the security department that investigates cases where employees at the Migration Agency may be suspected of having acted improperly, criminally, or otherwise behaved improperly. The unit's mission also includes personnel security, primarily within the area of security assessments to determine whether an employee meets the requirements set by the Security Protection Act to hold a position classified in a security class.
Main Responsibilities
As an investigation leader, you will be involved in both internal investigations and personnel security issues, which includes investigative measures such as information gathering, interviews, legal assessments, register and log checks in the authority's IT systems, background checks, security assessment interviews, and personnel security assessments. You will independently investigate and manage your cases in dialogue with the decision-making manager and/or labor law lawyer depending on the type of case.
The work involves extensive internal as well as external collaboration with various stakeholders. You will promote increased knowledge and awareness within the authority regarding both labor law and personnel security across the entire spectrum from operational protection to security protection. You have a pronounced good communicative and pedagogical ability, among other things, to educate and create understanding for the mission of internal investigations at different levels in the organization. The position includes frequent business trips, primarily within the country.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is structured and self-driven, while also having good collaboration skills and easily builds relationships and communicates clearly. You also possess good analytical skills as well as a pronounced security awareness. You have the will and ability to take your own initiatives and take independent responsibility for your tasks. You have well-founded and clear values, and in your work, you demonstrate high integrity and a pronounced awareness of ethical perspectives and considerations. You understand your role and your area but at the same time consider the best interests of the entire organization in your actions. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements
- Academic education (at least 120 credits) in a relevant field or other education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant
- Documented experience of investigations within labor law or criminal law, as well as experience of difficult conversations related to this
- Very good knowledge of and experience with government authorities
- Very good command of Swedish in both speech and writing
- Driver's license (B)
- Swedish citizenship
Meritorious
- Experience and current knowledge of IT tools for performing log checks and analyzing logs/large data sets
- Education and experience related to security protection legislation
- Education and experience in security assessments and security checks according to the Security Protection Act

A security check with a register control according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Employment is conditional on a successful security check and the requirement for Swedish citizenship.
