Your Responsibilities
As a preparation lawyer, you will perform legal work alongside prosecutors. You will assist them in their work and participate in the preparatory work during a criminal investigation and before various prosecutorial decisions. Furthermore, you will help monitor certain tasks of the prosecutors, suggest measures, and participate in various collaboration meetings. You may also assist prosecutors during court hearings. As a preparation lawyer, you will also assist prosecutors and case handlers with various administrative matters.
Your day-to-day work is event-driven, and cases may arise quickly that require you to make swift decisions and weigh the urgency of matters.
Your Qualities and Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has completed or is nearing the end of their law degree. By the time you start as a preparation lawyer, you must have completed your law degree.
We expect you to:
- have a strong interest in criminal law and procedural law and the activities conducted by the Prosecution Authority
- be meticulous, structured, and able to follow existing guidelines and routines
- be proactive and responsible, and able to independently prepare your cases
- have the ability to prioritize, work persistently, and efficiently
- be resilient to stress as the workload can be high at times
- easily collaborate, create good working relationships, and maintain an open attitude towards your surroundings
- be service-oriented
- be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- have good communication skills.

It is advantageous if you have gained experience in criminal cases during or after your studies through coursework, internships, or work.
About the Employment
The position is a permanent employment with a six-month probationary period.
The requirement for this position is that you have a Nordic law degree.

Before an employment offer, the Prosecution Authority may conduct a background check in the suspicion register and criminal record. The background check will be conducted on the final candidate.
The Prosecution Authority is a preparedness authority. Upon employment, you may be assigned to the Prosecution Authority in case of war. Read more under Work with us (#).
