Job Description

Do you have a solid background in accounting but are driven by understanding the business behind the numbers? On behalf of our client, we are now looking for a humble and analytical economist for a consulting assignment until the end of the year. Here you will play a key role in the intersection of accounting and controlling.

As a consultant in this role, you will step into a business-critical function. You are expected to be the "economist in the field" – the one who not only reconciles the general ledger but also immerses themselves in the daily operations of projects, understands the value of assets, and supports project managers in their financial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for monthly closing, reconciliations, adjustments, and accruals.
• Manage the entire chain of project accounting, control project balances, and close customer projects.
• Create and manage work orders and be responsible for invoicing to both suppliers and customers.
• Work with investment projects and valuation of assets.
• Act as a support within the product operations through product costing and contact with inventory accounting.

Qualifications

• You have a solid background in accounting but also experience in analysis and controlling.
• You have a good understanding of progressive profit recognition and project-based operations.
• As a person, you are distinctly humble and modest. You see the value in managing manual processes to build the knowledge required for larger analyses.
• You are curious and have the ability to build bridges between the finance department and the operational business.
