About Östra Aros

Östra Aros HVB (home for care or accommodation) is a residence for girls and boys aged 14–19 who have a placement decision from the social services. The residence is located in the Ulleråker district within walking distance to Fyrisån and the Kronåsen nature area and has nine places plus an on-call and emergency room. Our residents have their own rooms and shared bathrooms and kitchens. There are also common areas such as a dining room, gym, study room, and living room. The residence is staffed around the clock with awake night personnel. Here, treatment assistants and unit managers work for a safe residence with good care where the placement time for our residents should be experienced as meaningful.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a treatment assistant, you will be responsible for creating a stable and safe environment as well as supporting and motivating young people. You will work with daily tasks and leisure activities, create security, build relationships, and provide support with a strong focus on behavior change. It also includes documenting interventions and activities in the relevant record-keeping system and helping and supporting residents to find meaningful leisure activities. You will also have contact and collaborate with authorities, be a contact person for a number of young people, create structure and routines, and provide support in carrying out household chores.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least a two-year post-secondary education as a treatment or social pedagogue, or other vocational training (YH education) or higher education such as a behavioral scientist, which the employer deems relevant for the position. To succeed in the role, you need to have experience working with children and young people as a treatment assistant or social pedagogue. The job also requires that you have good oral and written skills in Swedish, IT skills, and a B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have training and experience in:

  • Trauma-informed care
  • Low-arousal approach
  • MI (motivational interviewing)
  • NPF (neuropsychiatric disabilities)
  • Signs of Safety
  • Systems theory
  • Newly arrived/unaccompanied youth.

As a person, you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships. You have a good empathetic ability and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. The job suits you if you find it easy to listen and adapt your communication style. Additionally, you are good at taking initiative and starting activities to achieve results.
