JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Förskolan Paletten is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool located in the central parts of Växjö, close to both the city and nature. At our preschool, people from all over the world come together in a community where language, cultural encounters, and democratic values form the foundation for children's development and learning. We organize ourselves into age-appropriate groups distributed across 12 departments in three different buildings with associated yards.

The educational environment is a central part of our operations and is designed to enable an exploratory approach together with the children. We work with a combination of recycled materials and other educational materials and see the environment as a third educator. To create conditions for continuous development, we offer professional development, including through the Reggio Emilia Institute's training. We organize various networks, discussion forums, and collegial learning. At the preschool, there are pedagogistas, atelieristas, and colleagues trained to lead collegial learning. As a new employee with us, you will be part of our mentoring program, which includes meetings with your assigned mentor as well as other practical and theoretical meetings.

We are now looking for an engaged and curious preschool teacher who wants to be part of our team. At Förskolan Paletten, there are people from all over the world, and together we shape a preschool where influence, joy, and knowledge for the future are at the center. One of our current focus areas is our language development work, where the many forms of expression of language—verbal, bodily, aesthetic, and cultural—are given space. Therefore, we are looking for someone who can think about language in a multifaceted way and who wants to contribute to an operation where children's right to express themselves and be understood is the focus.

The employment rate is 80-100 %

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a license to work in preschool. You should also:

  • be well acquainted with the preschool curriculum and have the ability to translate its writings into practice.
  • work exploratively with the children and see the differences between children and adults as an asset.
  • want to actively contribute to collegial learning and the development of the operation.
  • use reflection, pedagogical documentation, observation, and discussion as tools in daily work.
  • have a passion for the profession and a positive, professional attitude.
  • have good collaboration skills and experience working in teams.
  • have good leadership skills in working with both children and colleagues, in accordance with the preschool teacher's assignment.
  • have a good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Other language skills are also meritorious.

Experience with Reggio Emilia-inspired working methods is meritorious.
