JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Language and Competence Center is responsible for the reception of newly arrived students, mother tongue education, and study guidance in Växjö Municipality. The unit also has a competence assignment within reception, mapping, and study guidance.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our team at SKC as a mother tongue teacher in Portuguese. The position is 30-40% and is located in primary school. As a mother tongue teacher, you will teach students in Portuguese and support their language development. You will plan and conduct teaching based on the curriculum goals and adapt the work according to the students' needs. The position involves working with students of different ages and close collaboration with colleagues, mentors, and school management to create a stimulating and educational environment. You will also have contact with guardians as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has very good knowledge of Portuguese, both spoken and written. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We prefer that you have post-secondary education, preferably with a pedagogical focus and experience in teaching.

You have good collaboration skills and are flexible as you will work closely with colleagues and students of different ages. You have a good understanding of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system. You are used to taking responsibility and can work independently.

SKC, the Language and Competence Center, is part of the Education Administration's Resource Center, which also includes the central child and student health services and the Culture School. SKC is led by a unit manager and two deputy unit managers.
