International English School in Växjö is looking for flexible substitutes for grades F-9 and after-school care.

If you want to work extra in an international environment with a supportive culture, IES Växjö is the place for you! Here, we care for our students throughout the school day, and our EHT team is present 100% of the days of the week. We have a diverse student group speaking around 30 different mother tongues, as well as a rich international staff.

IES Växjö is a F-9 school with an associated after-school program. Our school is growing, and for the school year 25/26, we will have approximately 300 students. The school started in August 2022. IES Växjö is a bilingual school. Therefore, you should be comfortable communicating with colleagues, students, and their families in both Swedish and English – also in writing.

As a substitute, you are part of the daily work and actively work to create a stimulating and developing environment with the student at the center. You are a positive role model for the children in all situations. You are active, responsive, and take responsibility. Together with the regular staff, you contribute to ensuring that students have the best conditions to succeed.

Substituting in preschool or primary school means that you cover lessons according to the lesson planning in place. As a substitute in after-school care, you also follow a schedule with lesson times, recess supervision, and similar duties. You need to be flexible and able to improvise. It is also important to build relationships with our students and to be responsive to their needs. At the same time, it is important to take adult responsibility and be able to set boundaries. IES Växjö has clear frameworks in the corridors and classrooms and clear leadership in the lessons.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has qualified education or is studying for a teaching degree
• Has experience in child and youth activities
• Has passed Swedish at the high school level equivalent to SAS 3, with proof of completed education and masters the Swedish language very well in speech and writing.
• Has a positive attitude and a pleasant demeanor.
• Is engaged and responsible
• Takes initiative and has good collaboration skills
• Is adaptable to new working methods and routines.
