JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Uråsa School is located about 25 kilometers south of Växjö. The school is beautifully situated near the forest, and the schoolyard invites physical activity and joy of movement. Currently, there are 29 students at Uråsa School, ranging from preschool to grade 3. Students in grade 3 have lessons at Ingelstad School on Tuesdays, where they have classes in sports, crafts, and music. From grade 4, students from Uråsa School attend Ingelstad School.

At Uråsa School, there is an after-school program, where most students are currently enrolled. The after-school program has its own unique facilities where they spend their free time. Next to the department is the school's gymnasium, which is also used frequently.

Since we are a small unit, everyone has the opportunity to create good and sustainable relationships, where all staff have good knowledge of all students. The small unit requires good collaboration skills and sensitivity to our differences, both among students and staff at the school. We work for a safe place where students can develop both academically and socially. Creating a conducive learning environment and meeting each student based on their needs and strengths is something we see as a prerequisite for students to succeed.

As a teacher in the after-school program at Uråsa School, you will be responsible for creating teaching that allows students to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, aesthetically, and physically. You plan, implement, and evaluate the educational work, both independently and together with your team. You work closely with other teachers and staff to create a holistic approach to students' learning and development. Organized break activities are an important safety-creating activity that you will be part of. Another important part of your role is to communicate with guardians about students' well-being and progress. The main assignment is based in the after-school program, but a certain amount of teaching in preschool is also included in your assignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a positive view of students and wants every student to succeed according to their ability.
  • Creates an environment where students feel safe and want to be.
  • Understands the importance of planning and collaboration and enjoys working in a team as well as independently.
  • Is creative and wants to help shape the after-school program so that it is a place for learning, play, and development.
  • Wants to contribute to the unit with a leisure pedagogical perspective.
  • Communicates in a professional and respectful manner in all meetings.
  • Is good at building good and sustainable relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Has good IT skills.
  • Continuously reflects on your own development and always seeks new ways to improve results and teaching.

To be considered for the position, you must be a certified teacher in the after-school program. A qualification in practical aesthetic subjects is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
