Material Engineer Wanted

We are looking for a material engineer who wants to take a central role in the development of advanced products. In this role, you will combine technical depth in materials with practical work in production and development projects. You will be responsible for material selection, testing, and process development – from idea to production and follow-up. We welcome your application, as we are working with ongoing selection.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Our client is a leading player in advanced technology and manufactures complex products for use in systems with very high demands on quality, traceability, and safety. The products are found in a security-classified industry, which places great demands on every detail of the manufacturing process. The company works according to LEAN principles and invests long-term in improving workflows and methods. Here, you will become an important part of an international and high-tech context, where quality is an obvious part of every step in production.

As a material engineer, you will be responsible for material selection, analysis, and optimization of manufacturing processes. You will support projects and production with technical decisions, problem-solving, and improvements, and act as an expert in cross-functional teams. The role also includes documenting, following up, and ensuring that materials and processes meet relevant standards and customer requirements.

In your daily work, this means leading material-related investigations, analyzing test results, optimizing processes, supporting production in case of deviations, and participating in development projects. You will serve as a contact person for technical questions and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for material selection, analysis, and qualification for products and processes
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes
• Conduct material tests, analyze results, and draw conclusions
• Support production in case of problems and drive improvement and root cause analyses
• Document material and process information and ensure traceability

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

• Has a completed post-secondary education in materials science, chemistry, or production technology
• Has previously worked in a similar role that has given you deep knowledge of material properties, testing methods, and processes
• Has experience with relevant ECSS and IPC standards, as well as an understanding of the regulations REACH and ROHS
• Is fluent in both Swedish and English as both languages are used in daily work
• The position requires placement in a security class where Swedish citizenship is a requirement

It is meritorious if you have

• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, LEAN principles, VSM, and/or 5S
• Interest in combining materials technology with process development and production
