Your future challenge

As a test engineer in a production environment, you will work on developing future testing systems for the production of electronics for advanced air defense systems. The assignment will be carried out at the supplier's site, and you will work on both new development and maintenance of test equipment for the production environment to ensure robust testing processes and high delivery precision. Here, you will play a central role in ensuring that PCBA units maintain the highest quality from incoming supplier chains.

You will be a key person in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and improvement work while also contributing technical expertise regarding testing methodology and test equipment. The work will be both independent and in cross-functional teams together with production engineers, development teams, and subcontractors.

Your main responsibilities

• New development and maintenance of testing systems for production environments
• Systematic troubleshooting of deviating PCBA units using both visual inspection and electrical measurement methods.
• Perform analyses of soldering issues, component failures, mechanical defects, and contamination.
• Conduct testing in existing EOL rigs and evaluate test results.
• Perform root cause analyses based on electrical, mechanical, and process-related data and provide feedback to suppliers and internal functions.
• Review existing test equipment and drive improvements, upgrades, or duplication of test stations.
• Contribute to robust testing flows in production, including documentation, risk analyses, and quality assurance.
• Support production during acute deviations and be a technical resource in daily management.
• Act as a technical expert regarding testing methodology and development of test equipment.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a test engineer, electronics engineer, or similar in a production or industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of electronics troubleshooting, measurement technology, and interpretation of electrical schematics.
• Experience with PCBA, soldering processes, component characteristics, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to work systematically with testing methodology, deviation management, and documentation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external parties (suppliers).
• Good Swedish in speech and writing.
• Swedish citizenship is required. The assignment is security classified and requires that the employee can undergo and be approved in a security review according to applicable legislation.
• Available for on-site work in Karlskoga. Most of the tasks will be executed from the supplier's office in Karlskoga, and presence on-site is a requirement.

Meritorious

• Experience from the defense industry.
• Experience in EOL testing, ICT, boundary scan, or similar testing equipment.
• Experience working in organizations with high quality standards, e.g., ISO 9001, IPC standards.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies.
• National Instruments hardware and software such as LabVIEW and TestStand.
• Python programming.
