Do you thrive in the intersection of technology, production, and problem-solving? Do you have experience in turning, CAM preparation, and want to work in a role where your knowledge truly impacts quality, profitability, and delivery precision? Then the role of Production Engineer at BoMek might be the perfect next step for you.
About BoMek Verkstads AB
BoMek Verkstads AB is an established player in contract manufacturing with extensive experience in machining and welding of metallic materials. They deliver advanced mechanics to several of Sweden's largest companies in the engineering industry, laser optics, medical technology, and other precision mechanics.
“Our strength lies in combining genuine craftsmanship with modern and high-tech equipment. Quality, flexibility, and delivery reliability characterize our work – and our employees are the core of everything we do.”
About the role of Production Engineer
The role is part of the Production Engineering team and has a clear mission to ensure quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability in manufacturing. It is a key role where you act as the link between quotes, preparation, and actual production.
A large part of the work is done at the computer where you work with CAM preparation, CAD, program structure, and method selection, but the role also means that you are close to the workshop, operators, and the reality of the machines. This is not about writing programs in the machines, but about creating thoughtful, robust processes that hold over time, especially in series production where minutes and seconds per detail make a big difference in the end.
BoMek is at a stage where Production Engineering is growing as a function. This means that you will not only step into an established structure but also have the opportunity to shape working methods, methods, and the work going forward. This requires experience but also provides great opportunities for your influence.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with production, operators, metrology, purchasing, and marketing, and in some cases directly with customers and suppliers regarding technical solutions or tool purchases.
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing preparations, create CAM programs, and technical documentation via CAD.
- Plan and structure manufacturing flows for new and existing products.
- Ensure method selection, fixturing, tool selection, and process security.
- Support production during the startup of new jobs and technical challenges.
- Contribute to quote work by providing times, calculations, and technical solutions.
- Drive improvement work related to quality, technology, and efficiency.
About you
We believe that you have a background in production, preferably with a focus on turning and then taken the step towards a role in CAM preparation or production engineering. You understand machines, materials, and processes in depth, not just in theory.
You are confident in your technical skills but also humble enough to collaborate closely with operators and other functions. You will succeed here if you can stand your ground in technical decisions while building trust in everyday interactions.
This requires you to be willing to take initiative and drive improvements even if you do not hold a leading position. Communication, collaboration, and technical curiosity are therefore just as important as specific system knowledge.
Important for the role:
- Several years of experience in production (Turning/Milling) and production engineering/CAM preparation.
- Practical understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with multi-operation lathes is highly desirable.
- Good drawing comprehension.
- Ability to work structured and independently.
- Swedish in speech and writing.
Meritorious: - Experience with Edgecam, Esprit Edge, SolidWorks, or similar systems.
- Previous work with fixturing, method development, and process optimization.
- Experience from contract manufacturing with small to medium series.
BoMek's offer
At BoMek, you step into a stable company with a high technical level, short decision-making paths, and a clear focus on quality. The role offers significant personal responsibility and a real opportunity to influence how Production Engineering develops in the future.
Here, you will work closely with both technology and production in a team where competence is highly valued and where improvement work is a natural part of everyday life.
