Job Description

The role of GIS Engineer with us involves managing geographic data in databases as well as developing creative solutions to problems using GIS.

System management is part of the job responsibilities. You will work broadly within the municipality's various operations by providing support, assistance, and training in the handling of geographic information, and you will be responsible for entering and updating various map layers. The work involves close contact with citizens, businesses, politicians, and authorities. Our working method is focused on teamwork; we help each other across boundaries and utilize each other's expertise in a non-prestigious work environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in GIS, surveying, cartography, or another equivalent education as deemed by the employer. Experience in municipal cartography, surveying, and GIS operations is an advantage. It is important that you have a strong commitment and the ability to drive and participate in various projects and assignments. You should possess good IT skills, and experience with FME, ArcGIS, QGIS, and PostgreSQL is a plus. Experience in digital development and AI is also advantageous. You should be creative, service-oriented, and self-sufficient.
