Description

Gamlestadsskolan is a F-9 school located in the historic Gamlestaden with children and students primarily from the local area and the rest of East Gothenburg.

The district of Gamlestaden is currently in a very expansive phase with the goal of becoming one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for communication, housing, and services.

At Gamlestadsskolan, there are approximately 600 students in grades F-9, and we also have four after-school programs where our youngest students can receive care. The school is organized so that there are smaller schools within the larger school. We actively work to create a sense of community where teachers and students jointly feel a responsibility for the school's environment and well-being.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a driven and committed teacher in physical education and health as well as motor skills for the adapted primary school. You will also teach physical education and health in a special education group (SU-group) 2. The position is a 100% temporary role starting immediately until 2026-12-31.

Gamlestadsskolan's adapted primary school is a school for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. We have five classes with just over 30 students in grades 1-9, an after-school department, and an LSS operation. The foundation of the adapted school's working methods is based on the two curricula in subjects and subject areas in Lgra 22.

In the SU-group, we have two classes with 16 students in grades 4-9. Here, students with neuropsychiatric diagnoses attend. The curriculum is Lgr 22.

In the pedagogical work with the students, you have a holistic view and adapt the teaching based on needs, conditions, and interests. You adapt to create clarity, safety, and predictability at both individual and group levels and work with clarifying pedagogy, use visual support, and AAC.

You create secure relationships with the students while being clear and structured in your teaching. You have a strong commitment and a good ability to see each student's opportunities and needs and stay one step ahead. You have a salutogenic and relational approach.

As a teacher with us, you will work closely with class teachers and teaching assistants and strive to develop and improve our operations. Our vision is "Together we learn and develop to be able to improve the world." This places demands on all of us to work together and be willing to learn new things while continuously striving for improvements, both big and small. It is a vision for all of us - both staff and students. Do you also want to be part of our journey?
