We are now looking for an engaged and secure classroom support with good knowledge of mathematics primarily for grade 9. The position is approximately 50 to 60 percent and applies for the upcoming term, starting by agreement. The position is particularly suitable for those studying to become teachers or studying mathematics at college or university and want to combine studies with meaningful work in the school.

About the Position

As classroom support, you will be an important part of the school's work regarding students' knowledge development in grade 9. You will work closely with students and teachers, providing support in teaching both during the school day and in connection with, for example, math tutoring after school.

The assignment involves creating structure, safety, and study peace, as well as helping students develop understanding, strategies, and confidence in mathematics. You contribute to a positive study environment where high expectations are combined with clear support.

The role gives you the opportunity to develop your pedagogical skills, deepen your understanding of students' learning, and gain valuable experience working in a middle school, in close collaboration with experienced teachers and educators.

Examples of Tasks

In the role of classroom support, you will meet students both in the classroom and in smaller settings. You will be present during math lessons and support students in their work by explaining, structuring, and encouraging. Part of your assignment is to help students find strategies for their learning and to create a conducive and safe learning environment.

You will closely collaborate with the responsible teacher to adapt support based on students' needs and the school's working methods. This may involve working with smaller groups, following up with students who need extra support, or contributing to the smooth functioning of teaching for all.

After school, you may hold math tutoring sessions, where students have the opportunity to review topics, ask questions, and deepen their understanding. Throughout the day, you are a clear, present, and relationship-building adult who contributes to students' safety, motivation, and development in all subjects at school.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of mathematics who enjoys working closely with young people. You are confident in guiding and explaining mathematics at the middle school level, even if you do not have previous experience teaching independently.

You are calm, clear, and relationship-building, and have a genuine commitment to students' learning and development. You may be a teacher student, studying mathematics, or have another relevant educational background. The most important thing for us is that you have an interest in mathematics, a desire to support students, and the ability to create safe relationships.

Pedagogical education or experience working in a school is an advantage but not a requirement. Personal suitability is very important to us.
