AT Training at Alingsås Hospital

Alingsås Hospital is part of the Hospitals in the West, an administration within the Västra Götaland Region.

The administration also includes Kungälv Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, and Högsbo Local Hospital.

The hospital consists of operational areas such as the Medical Clinic, Surgery and Orthopedics Clinic, Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Emergency Department, and Ambulance, as well as outpatient clinics in gynecology, pediatrics, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat).

Alingsås Hospital has approximately 700 employees and serves a catchment area of about 100,000 inhabitants.

We offer you the opportunity for guidance and support from experienced colleagues to develop your clinical skills. With us, you will meet many patients with a wide range of healthcare needs and participate independently and responsibly in the hospital's on-call activities.

During your AT training, a group study trip will also be conducted.

We offer 10 positions (blocks). 5 blocks starting on 2026-08-24 and 5 blocks starting on 2026-11-23.

The blocks are 18 months long and consist of 4.5 months of medicine, 4.5 months of surgery/orthopedics, 3 months of psychiatry, and 6 months of primary care.

The psychiatry placement takes place within inpatient care at SU in Gothenburg.

During your primary care placement, you will work with a complete primary care assignment under secure conditions and with good supervision. The primary care placement will be at one of the 12 health centers in Herrljunga, Vårgårda, Alingsås, or Lerum. Assignment to a health center will occur six months after the start of the AT training.

Qualifications

To begin AT, you must have completed your basic education and obtained your medical degree or have the National Board of Health and Welfare's permission to complete AT. We are looking for employees with good collaboration skills, who enjoy taking their own initiatives and thrive in varied work tasks. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Previous experience in healthcare is advantageous, especially if you have worked as a junior doctor within the Västra Götaland Region.

The application deadline is February 18. Notification of interviews will be given no later than March 5. Interviews will take place on-site at Alingsås Hospital on March 9-10.

• Cover letter
• Medical degree or the National Board of Health and Welfare's permission to complete AT
• At least 2 written references, one from your most recent supervisor, and reference letters.
• Any service certificates as a junior doctor.
