About us

The Prostate Cancer Center is part of the Urology Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, where we work together in urology and oncology to provide the best possible care for prostate cancer.

At the Prostate Cancer Center, several professions collaborate, and you will play a vital role in addressing and meeting the patient's needs. This is done in conjunction with the collective expertise of the team. The operations include both doctor appointments, nurse consultations, and telephone advice. Nursing competence is an important part of the teamwork around the patient and is conducted from an evidence-based and person-centered perspective. This ensures good, safe, and equitable care and the development of nursing. At the Prostate Cancer Center, we actively work with workshifting and improvement efforts to operate at the top of our competence. About the position

As a contact nurse, you will have overall responsibility and be especially available for patients and relatives throughout the care chain. You will be responsible for establishing an individual written care plan, My Care Plan, and ensuring the patient's participation and influence in their own care. You should be able to provide support to patients and relatives during normal crisis reactions. You will also participate in multidisciplinary conferences, inform about upcoming steps in the care process, and inform and follow up on treatments. You will always have the support of experienced colleagues. The treatment of patients and relatives is the focus. The work also involves contact with other care providers.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse. It is advantageous if you have previous experience as a contact nurse or have worked in urology or oncology. You should be able to work in a team and also work independently.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
