The Health and Elderly Administration in Borås City works towards the goal that both younger and older residents in need of care, support, service, health and medical care, as well as preventive health work, should have a good life every day. The administration consists of over 2,600 employees. We are now expanding our operations with specialist-trained nursing assistants!

We who work at the Nursing and Care Home at Våglängdsgatan 153 are a wonderful team consisting of nursing assistants, care assistants, SoL supporters, coordinators, and unit managers. With us, men and women with different backgrounds and experiences work, enriching our operations and broadening our competence. The Nursing and Care Home at Våglängdsgatan consists of 6 departments, each with 20 apartments. The focus is on people with dementia. As a specialist nursing assistant, your position is based on regular nursing assistant tasks, and you will also perform tasks within your specialist area. You are a hub in the person-centered care and support around the user. Care interventions and health and medical tasks are performed by delegation, and you document in our journal systems and design implementation plans. You work both independently and together with colleagues within the unit and in the interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. As a specialist nursing assistant, you contribute to the development of the operation within your specialist area, both in daily meetings with users and relatives, but also in method guidance and competence development of colleagues. Other tasks in the role may include participating in/driving development work, monitoring the environment, and spreading knowledge within the specialist area, as well as working with quality registers, follow-up work on deviations, and supporting colleagues in social documentation. Evening and weekend shifts are included in the position.

We are looking for someone with a Secondary School education in health and social care. You also have a vocational college degree as a specialist nursing assistant of at least 200 vocational college credits or alternatively 60 university credits in geriatrics and elderly health, dementia, or palliative care. You have at least 2 years of professional experience as a nursing assistant. Professional experience within the specialist area is an advantage. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. To succeed in the role, you have good pedagogical skills and an understanding of both the user perspective and the operational perspective. Before an employment offer, you need to present an extract from the police's criminal record.
