We at Sahlgrenska University Hospital are proud to offer a residency (AT) of high quality with satisfied resident doctors and an engaged and responsive AT organization. We care about your well-being as a resident doctor, helping you thrive, grow, and build a solid foundation for your licensure. With us, you will receive 18 months of clinical training divided into 4 months of internal medicine, 4 months of surgical specialties, 3 months of psychiatry, and additionally 1 elective month within internal medicine/surgical specialties. On-call duties are included. You will conclude with 6 months of general medicine placement at one of the healthcare centers in the entire Gothenburg area, including the archipelago and surrounding municipalities of Partille, Härryda, and Mölndal.

About you as an applicant
To apply for residency, you need to have completed at least 10 semesters of medical school or have valid permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare.

It is advantageous if you have:

• obtained a medical degree
• experience of clinical work as a junior doctor
• experience in teaching and/or supervision
• research experience in the form of publications, doctoral registration, dissertation, and professorship
• experience in other healthcare and welfare work

We are looking for someone who is stable and confident in themselves. You are willing to make priorities and take decisions based on the information you have, while knowing when to ask for advice. You are good at seeing the big picture and your role in it. You collaborate easily in teams and treat others with care and respect. To provide our patients with good and safe care, it is a requirement that our employees have good language skills and the ability to communicate in Swedish. Personal suitability is highly valued. To start a position as a resident doctor at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, a valid medical degree is required.

How to apply?

For a fair and equitable process, we have chosen to make the selection based on a CV form and a number of selection questions that we would like you to answer in Varbi. Therefore, you do not need to submit your own cover letter or recommendation letters. To account for the experiences you state in your application documents, they must be substantiated by certificates. You can supplement your application until the final application date.

This is what you need to prepare for your application:

• transcript from Ladok, medical degree certificate valid in Sweden, or permission from the National Board of Health and Welfare
• if you have trained as a doctor in a country other than Sweden and do not have a Swedish high school diploma, the following is required: Certificate of approved language skills in Swedish corresponding to level C1 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages and English corresponding to the requirements for general eligibility for admission to medical education in Sweden
• employment certificate from the payroll office that verifies worked time and employment degree (not employment contract or recommendation letter).
