Job Description

As a housing supporter, you guide individuals in their daily lives through practical skills training at home, in the community, and during leisure time. The support may include creating structure and routines, strengthening social contacts, and providing educational support in various everyday situations. The assignment is motivating and coaching, where you support the individual in developing their own strategies and resources for a more independent life.

You work independently in the individual's home and, if necessary, contact important people in the person's network. The work also involves close collaboration with colleagues, coordinators, care managers, and other professionals to ensure that the service maintains high quality.

In this role, you work process-oriented and continuously follow up on goals and sub-goals in the implementation plan developed together with the individual based on the care decision and needs. Through a structured approach, you contribute to the person being able to increase their independence at home, in social contexts, and in work, studies, or other activities. The team's collaboration is crucial for the individual to achieve their goals.

The housing support is aimed at adults (18 - approx. 75 years) with mental and/or neuropsychiatric disabilities. You will be part of an organization with clear routines, established working methods, and good collaboration. We have three offices in Uppsala, and we are now looking for several permanent positions at our northern office.

The position is primarily scheduled for daytime Monday–Friday. You also need to be able to work 1–2 evenings per week, and some weekend work may occur, at most every fourth weekend.

Qualifications

  • Care program with a focus on psychiatry, or Social treatment work, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • Experience working with people with mental disabilities
  • Experience in similar independent work
  • Experience in teamwork
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to cycle and travel by bus
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

It is strongly meritorious if you have a B driver's license and if you have knowledge and experience in MI (Motivational Interviewing), VoSS (Care and Support Coordination), or equivalent, as well as System Theory education.

We are looking for you who are proactive and independently initiate activities that lead to concrete results. You have excellent collaboration skills and work well with others by relating to them attentively and flexibly, actively listening, and communicating in a way that promotes constructive conflict resolution. You possess strong empathetic abilities, meaning you can understand others' perspectives or situations without taking over their feelings. Furthermore, you have pedagogical insight and a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge and their varying conditions, and you can adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's needs. You work in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively while setting and adhering to clear deadlines.
