Within the Care and Social Services Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. Ekebyvägen 17 is one of Uppsala Municipality's group homes located in the picturesque district of Ekeby, close to both green areas and the city center. Ekebyvägen 17 offers accommodation for five people who primarily need social support, such as conversations, motivation, and community. There is always staff on site, around the clock with awake night staff. Tallbacksvägen 40 is a group home located in a single-story villa in Norby. Our focus is on adults within the LSS group 1, section 9:9. The residents of Tallbacksvägen 40 are either deaf and/or blind, and the staff work with sign language support and tactile sign language. Staff are present 24/7 with awake night staff. In the role of support pedagogue, work may also occur at the neighboring facility Tallbacksvägen 62. Job Description

In the role of support pedagogue, you will provide support and service based on the residents' wishes, both at home and in leisure activities. You will contribute to ensuring that the resident has the opportunity for an active and meaningful life. Furthermore, you should be able to address each person's individual needs and conduct pedagogical work based on this. Since the needs vary among users, no day is the same, which contributes to a challenging and exciting job.

You will work closely with your colleagues and have significant responsibility to, in consultation with the operations manager, drive and develop the pedagogical work in the organization. Some delegated health and medical care tasks are included in the work. We offer a work schedule where you work both day and evening shifts as well as every other weekend.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained support pedagogue, with a degree from the support pedagogue program with 200 YH points or equivalent to 60 higher education credits in pedagogy. You have experience working with the target group within LSS and good knowledge of their needs. To thrive in the role, you need to be well acquainted with clarifying pedagogy and have experience with Sign Language as Alternative and Complementary Communication (TAKK), Alternative and Complementary Communication (AKK), and low-arousal approaches.

The work requires that you have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. We consider it a merit if you have previously led a workgroup in method development and if you have experience working with complex behavioral issues and finding sustainable solutions in challenging situations.

As a person, we see that you easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change your approach. You work well with others by listening, communicating, and resolving conflicts constructively. Furthermore, we see that you easily embrace new ideas and methods. Finally, you have the ability to understand someone else's situation without taking over their feelings.
