We work with an evidence-based method that sees the person before the problem – and we are now looking for you who want to be part of our team and together with us reduce homelessness through Housing First!
Housing Unit 2
Housing Unit 2 is one of the two housing units of the Social Services located in Uppsala. The service primarily targets individuals over 18 years old with housing social contracts and Housing First, and we work based on the legislation in the Social Services Act (SoL).
The housing units are located on the same floor in newly renovated premises on Fålhagsleden. The housing unit works on an activity-based approach with the possibility of remote work.
Job Description
Your role includes working with authority exercises within the framework of Housing First and investigating the right to assistance in the form of housing, following up on these assistance decisions, and implementing them. A large part of the work consists of social work, collaboration, and teamwork, as well as being part of the organization's change work. Housing First is a homelessness model aimed at providing a stable housing solution for people with complex and long-term issues, such as addiction, mental illness, long-term homelessness, and social vulnerability. With a secure housing solution, conditions for recovery and increased quality of life are provided. Housing First is an evidence-based and well-researched method that we know is the most effective way to reduce long-term homelessness. In Housing First, there is a belief that change is possible if the right conditions are provided. The work requires flexibility to meet the target group in the environments they are in and with the needs they have. The work is carried out in close collaboration with Uppsala City Mission, the municipality's property department, and Uppsalahem. The team working with Housing First consists of two social workers and a team leader. The team has a close and good collaboration. You will also participate in training and supervision to continuously improve and develop your skills.
