Personal Assistant Wanted

Särnmark is one of Sweden's oldest companies in personal assistance, founded by the current owner in the early 1990s. We operate based on a clear and stated value foundation, and our main drive is to create the best conditions for individualized personal assistance based on each person's unique needs. Särnmark currently has over 3500 employees, and our customers and staff are located all over Sweden. Särnmark's head office is in Sundbyberg, but we also have offices in other parts of Sweden. We are now looking for new employees who can start immediately, as well as summer substitutes.

A requirement is that you have a driver's license, as you will be driving my car when I go to work. You do not need to have access to your own car, as you can take public transport to my home.

I am a man who is spinal cord injured from an accident and paralyzed from the shoulders down, but I have some mobility in my left arm. I need help with my daily life, for example:

• Dressing and undressing
• Transfers
• Toilet visits
• Hygiene, all moments
• Exercise/stretching according to schedule
• Eating/feeding

I work Monday to Friday as a biology teacher at SLU and need help opening doors, getting me settled at my desk, and arranging all aids so that I can perform my work. I may also need help retrieving and flipping through books/papers. When I lecture, I need your help to start the equipment (according to my instructions) and to assist me in changing the PowerPoint slide (one button press). Travel in service with associated overnight stays occurs a couple of times a year, and of course, you as an assistant will accompany me on these occasions.

At home, you will help me perform my share of the household tasks, e.g., dishes, cleaning, etc. One of my greatest interests is my garden, so if you enjoy being outdoors, this assignment will suit you. During the summer months, you will help me with sowing, weeding, planting, trimming, watering, etc. In winter, you will perform my share of sanding and snow shoveling, so it is good if you have good physical fitness.

Requirements for applicants:

• 25 years or older
• Driver's license and good driving experience
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing, as you need to understand my instructions.
• You are smoke-free (exceptions may be made if it does not affect me regarding accessibility and smoke odor)
• You are not allergic to cats (a cat is present in the home)
• You are not allergic to grass (due to my great interest in gardening, we are outdoors quite a bit)
• Experience in a healthcare-related profession is desirable but not required.

Work shifts:

The shifts are scheduled as 24-hour shifts, meaning you start at 08:00 and finish at 08:00 the following day. All shifts, Monday to Sunday, are the same. You will work every other weekend. At night, you have 5.5 hours of on-call duty, during which you sleep in your own bedroom.
