We are now expanding our unit to support more families in need of our assistance. We are looking for someone who is engaged, solution-focused, and believes in the active participation of families. In the Family Support Group, you will have experienced colleagues who are truly passionate about their work!

The Family Support Group is part of the social services and consists of thirteen employees and a manager shared with another unit. Our office is located on von Bahrs väg in Uppsala, but our work field covers the entire Uppsala Municipality. The focus is always on the best interests of the children, and to achieve this, you will work together with the family in their home towards the necessary and desired change. We operate from a systemic theoretical perspective, and the important cornerstones of our work are theories of interaction and communication, attachment, and learning theories.

External supervision and wellness grants, as well as ongoing professional development, are included.

Job Description

As a Family Pedagogue, you provide support for desired change to families with psychosocial issues, and the support offered is provided in the families' homes. The intervention is provided after assessment and decision by a social worker. Parents and children/youth receive guidance in interaction and communication through modeling in everyday activities related to conversations. This may also involve concrete support with practical matters, such as routines around mealtimes, morning routines, and bedtime routines, as well as support in contact with other support services for the family/child, such as habilitation, financial assistance, school, and so on.

The position involves some work during inconvenient hours, such as early mornings and evenings. Documentation is done in the operational system Lifecare.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a 2-year post-secondary education as a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. We expect you to have documented experience in psychosocial work with children/youth and their families. The job requires that you have a B driver's license. You also need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We would prefer if you have training in Signs of Safety, MI training, and Systemic Theory training. It is an advantage if you have leadership training in any parent support program such as Project Support or PYC. Experience in documenting in digital systems is also considered an asset.

As a person, you are empathetic and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. You are clear in your communication and ensure that your messages are conveyed correctly. Furthermore, you are pedagogical and understand people's different abilities to absorb knowledge. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
