Welcome to Älvkarleby Municipality – a workplace with proximity and engagement
At Älvkarleby Municipality, you will encounter a work environment where it is close to managers, colleagues, and decision-makers. We are over 700 employees who together work based on our shared values of Courage, Will, Respect, and Holistic View, which guide how we collaborate, develop, and meet our residents.
We believe in the power of diverse perspectives and actively work to ensure that our organization is characterized by diversity, equality, and respect. Here, there is room to grow and contribute with your skills and personality.
Älvkarleby Municipality is located just south of Gävle, where the Dalälven River meets the sea. With Skutskär as the central locality, nature is always around the corner – river, forest, sea, and tranquility in a beautiful combination. About 9,500 residents live here, with good opportunities for a rich life both at work and in leisure.
The transportation links are excellent – with three train stations, frequent bus connections, and proximity to the E4, we are an attractive commuting municipality. This also makes us a natural meeting place for people with different experiences and skills.
To promote a healthy lifestyle, we have a smoke-free working time.
Do you want to contribute to a municipality with faith in the future and proximity to both people and nature? Welcome with your application!
Are you driven, engaged, and want to help people get a new chance in life?
Do you have experience working with people who are far from the labor market? Then you might be the one we are looking for!
We are now hiring a project assistant for our ongoing project Enhanced Support for Work and Studies, which is a collaborative effort together with the Employment Service, Region Uppsala, and the Social Insurance Agency, funded by the Coordination Association of Uppsala County.
The project is part of the Labor Market and Integration Unit, which belongs to the Business and Development Department at Älvkarleby Municipality. The project is led by a project manager who will be your closest colleague. You will report directly to the Head of Business and Development.
The initiative aims to offer coordinated and enhanced support to working-age individuals who are neither working nor studying through a motivating and coaching approach. The goal is for these individuals to approach the labor market or start studies.
Through collaboration with various parties, we work to provide an individualized and sustainable path forward for the target group, consisting of citizens in Älvkarleby Municipality aged 20 and above. The target group requires longer intervention times where relationship-building and motivating work are central. Therefore, we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, engagement, and experience working with individuals in vulnerable situations.
As a project assistant, you will:
- Work with a coaching and motivating approach to support participants towards work or studies.
- Collaborate with local actors and utilize established networks to coordinate efforts at the individual level.
- Work closely with caseworkers in financial assistance.
- Contribute to creating structures for individualized interventions and support processes.
- Document and follow up on participants' development and analyze results to ensure the project meets its goals.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a background as a social worker, behavioral scientist, or other equivalent education/experience deemed relevant by the employer.
- Has the ability to build good relationships and can easily motivate and engage others, even when facing resistance.
- Is structured, goal-oriented, and has a strong self-drive.
- Has experience working both independently and in collaboration with other actors.
- Has pedagogical skills and is accustomed to working result-oriented.
- Has experience in project work and a systematic approach.
- Has good documentation and analytical skills.
- Holds a valid driver's license (B).
As a person, you are attentive, flexible, positive, supportive, and can see the potential in every individual.
Start date is to be agreed upon.
