Economist Wanted at the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten

The County Administrative Board of Norrbotten works to ensure the development of Norrbotten. We do this on behalf of the government, and our area of responsibility is broad, encompassing authority exercise, development, management, and coordination of the county's various interests across many areas. What we do creates societal benefits, and we ensure that national goals and decisions are implemented in the county. We have extensive knowledge and many specialists. You will belong to the unit for economics and procurement, a unit with 15 employees who together are responsible for the authority's financial reporting, budget, forecasting, operational planning, purchasing, and environmental management work.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities include, for example:

  • Ongoing accounting, such as booking incoming payments
  • Responsibility for accounts receivable, such as customer invoicing and administration related to claims management
  • Registration of manual payments
  • Account reconciliations
  • Answering inquiries related to customer invoices as well as incoming and outgoing payments

The responsibilities of this position may change, and other work areas may be added, both to promote your development and to adapt to our changing assignments over time.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed upper secondary education with a focus on economics or equivalent education
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in a similar role with ongoing accounting
  • Good knowledge of financial systems (e.g., Unit4 ERP, Visma Proceedo)
  • Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent
  • Good ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in Swedish

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working with Unit4 ERP
  • Experience in accounting within the public sector

As a person, you are service-oriented and have an easy time building good relationships. Furthermore, you are meticulous and structured and have a good ability to organize and prioritize your work. You have a strong interest in accounting and are accustomed to working towards deadlines.

Good to Know

We use a six-month probationary period. If you are called for an interview, you may be required to complete a work sample. Since some jobs with us require security clearance, you may need to undergo a security check before employment. This includes a security interview and background check. For certain positions, Swedish citizenship is required.
