Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives?
Welcome to the municipality that is far from average!
Botkyrka municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.
The Department of Labor Market and Adult Education is responsible for the municipality's labor market measures, daily activities, adult education, and issues related to higher education, such as vocational training programs and other post-secondary education. Our goal is to provide the residents of Botkyrka with good conditions to enter studies, work, and employment. We are 330 employees working to enable more citizens to achieve self-sufficiency.
The position and job responsibilities
Among long-term recipients of financial support, women over 45 years old in Botkyrka have a harder time establishing themselves in the labor market. This is often related to health issues, financial difficulties, and social isolation. Previous efforts have yielded short-term results, and the number of women with health issues has increased. The project Health to Work is ESF-funded and aims to support 240 women by first breaking isolation and strengthening health. It also includes issues of power, violence, and relationships. Subsequently, labor market measures will be implemented. It is run by Botkyrka municipality in collaboration with the Social Administration and local health centers.
We are looking for two labor market coaches for the project for a fixed-term employment from March 2026 to December 31, 2028.
As a labor market coach, you will work operationally to plan, implement, and develop the project's labor market-oriented measures. You will play a central role in the daily work and collaborate closely with the project manager and external actors to create sustainable pathways to work, internships, or studies for the project's participants. The assignment includes building and maintaining collaboration with employers, healthcare, educational providers, and other relevant community actors.
You will meet participants both individually and in groups, map their needs, resources, and competencies, and provide guidance based on their conditions. Together with the participants, you will help design measures that strengthen participation, work ability, and the opportunity for self-sufficiency. The role requires close collaboration with both internal and external parties as well as active work with follow-up and development of the project's activities.
Your main job responsibilities:
- map the participants' individual conditions and identify structural and personal barriers to establishing themselves in the labor market
- plan, implement, and follow up on the project's activities together with the project manager and partners
- provide individual and group-based support to the project's participants
- assist the project manager with follow-up of timelines, reporting, and other documentation
- participate in communication and dissemination of information about the project's purpose, methods, and results
The project unit is responsible for the municipal activity responsibility (KAA) and current projects. Together with authorities, businesses, and civil society, we work to get our participants into work or studies.
We offer you
Here, 14 dedicated colleagues work: unit manager, project manager, coordinators, labor market coaches, and employees within the municipality's activity responsibility. We collaborate closely to strengthen citizens' opportunities for work and studies through development projects and cooperation. The project unit is facing important areas of development where we continue to strengthen our methods and approaches to meet our participants' needs in a legally secure and inclusive manner.
With us, you will have the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally in a stimulating and caring work environment. You will have access to professional development, supervision, and support in the role, as well as the opportunity to contribute your ideas and drive development forward. As an employee of Botkyrka municipality, you will also be offered good benefits, such as wellness grants and flexible working hours where the business allows. Our workplace is located in Alby with good communication, making it easy to get to and from work.
You who are applying to us
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in public health, social sciences, behavioral sciences, or another relevant area that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have documented experience working with labor market issues, such as matching, coaching, guidance, or career support.
Other requirements:
- Good knowledge of labor market actors, systems, and regulations.
- Good ability to communicate professionally in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in project form.
- Experience working with issues related to women's health, integration, or the labor market.
- Knowledge of gender and equality issues.
- Experience in project work within the public sector, civil society, or EU-funded programs.
- Experience working in public or non-profit organizations.
In the role of labor market coach, you need to be able to easily establish contact and build trust, both with participants and partners. You collaborate closely with colleagues, employers, educational providers, and other actors, and therefore need to be collaborative and relationship-building. The work involves ongoing dialogues, coordination of efforts, and joint solutions, which requires you to be attentive, clear in your communication, and comfortable working together with others to help participants achieve their goals.
Since the position involves working with individual action plans, follow-ups, and planning activities, you need to be structured in your work approach. You alternate between independent work and joint efforts and need to be able to prioritize and keep order even when the pace is high. The role also requires you to be solution-oriented and able to find ways forward when conditions change or when a participant needs a new approach. Seeing opportunities, adapting measures, and making well-founded decisions are crucial for success in the assignment.
