Take a Key Role in the Development of the Swedish Research Council's Financial Management!

The financial work at the Swedish Research Council is in a clear development phase. We are now looking for a senior and qualified controller who wants to take strategic responsibility for further developing the agency's financial management together with experienced colleagues.

Role Description and Responsibilities

As a senior controller, you have a strategically important role in the financial management of the agency. You work closely with operations and support managers in forecasting, budgeting, analysis, and follow-up work.

You are responsible for producing decision-making and presentation materials for reporting on budgets, outcomes, and forecasts. The work is done in close relation to planning and analysis of operational issues, where understanding the management of both finance and operations is important.

You are part of a team of controllers at the agency and are expected to take clear personal responsibility while also contributing to the team's collective development and working methods. In this role, you will also collaborate with others. You will work closely with other functions regarding financial management issues and the development of financial administrative routines.

Furthermore, you will contribute to ongoing and future development initiatives aimed at improving processes, methods, and routines related to project management, an important part of strengthening the quality assurance of decision-making materials.

You will primarily support and work with our department Sunet and associated services. You will work closely with operations providing support in pricing, calculations, and helping to follow up on services. Additionally, you will act as a strategic financial support in matters concerning cost structure, revenue models, and long-term sustainability.

  • collaborating and communicating financial issues with colleagues from various professional groups
  • developing reports and materials that support the organization in making better decisions.

You Should Have:

  • relevant higher education in finance or another post-secondary education combined with substantial work experience in the field assessed as equivalent,
  • at least 5 years of current and relevant experience in independent budgeting, analysis, and forecasting work
  • very good knowledge of financial management/accounting.
  • very good knowledge of Excel at an advanced level and experience working in digital support systems in the finance area,
  • very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing.

It Is Meritorious If You Have

  • knowledge and experience of the financial system UNIT4 ERP/Agresso.
  • experience in public administration
  • experience in accounting in the private sector
  • good knowledge of the state budget process.

Location

Our office is activity-based and located at Hantverkargatan 11 in central Stockholm. If the tasks allow, there is an opportunity to work remotely part-time.

Employment Form and Start Date

We offer a permanent full-time position with a 6-month probation period. We would like you to start as soon as possible, considering any notice period.
